Critical Rhythm label management was set up in 2003 and is owned by
Keith McDonnell ( also owner & manager of Baroque Records).
As
a label management company Critical Rhythm work very closely with their
labels to achieve a greater profile and in turn sales & licensing!
We
exclusively manage a very select group of quality labels, of varying
genres, from around the world. After only a short time in business we
are already very proud to represent such established & respected
labels as BozBoz, Aurium, SOG, Nascent, Vinyl Vice, Electrofly.. and of
course baroque & method Records.
In label management we
commit to manufacture, Promote & distribute the label and then
account back to the label on a quarterly basis. This means we not only
take on this work load, but we also take on the financial
responsibility for all the listed up fronts costs, which for a small
label trying to establish itself can be a very welcome relief!
Unlike
other label management companies we have distribution deals in place
with more than one distributor, which means that we can place each
label with the distributor that best suits there style and output, and
of course we like to think that this also keeps each distributor on
their toes!! The distributors we work closely with include Intergroove,
Blano y Negro, Studio & Amato. All of these distributors are highly
respected & successful companies & have agreements in place
with all the major chains such as HMV & Virgin.
As Critical
Rhythm is owned & run by Keith McDonnell, who has run baroque
Records for the last 5 years, each label that we work with can benefit
from the in house experience & knowledge gained through years of
running baroque, which is now seen by many as one of the worlds finest
dance imprints, and expect the same high quality of service. This also
means we have very strong relationships with the various world dance
press, DJs & production companies.
Also with increased sales
on baroque & Method through the years and now with the addition of
even more quality labels through critical rhythm we have been able to
negotiate some very attractive manufacturing prices, and would even go
so far as to say these are probably some of the best around, which we
are pleased to be able to offer to our associated labels!
